Sweet
Pickle signs veteran roots-rock act, Urban Twang
Sweet
Pickle Music and veteran, Chicago-based Americana
band, Urban Twang, will be releasing the band’s
long-awaited new album, Vintage, in May.
“Urban
Twang helped establish Chicago as a hotbed for roots
music, and we’re proud to help them shape
the next chapter,” says Robin Simkins, of
Sweet Pickle. “Vintage will give Chicago fans
of Americana music something more to crow about.”
Harkening
back to their early 70’s rock influences,
Urban Twang’s upcoming CD release of Vintage
marks the band’s re-entry into the Chicago
music scene following time spent for recording and
adding babies to the band’s extended family.
“When
recording the songs we thought, ‘We’re
old so we don’t have to be cool.’ So
we just made music we liked.” says Urban Twang’s
Max Getzel.
The
upcoming release of Vintage will also add another
important prong to the band’s career successes—which
include two acclaimed previous releases, Nothing
You Can Do and Go Call Delia; work on independent
film scores; sponsorship from Taco Bell; and opening
act slots for Dave Matthews, The Samples and The
Waco Brothers.
